  • Thomas Wertheim  - THE RC CHURCH IN SOUTH AFRICA

The RC Church,is and has always been the bastion that stood for the poor and oppressed in South Africa.I can say this with conviction,as I was borne and bred in South Africa and have experienced in person the good work done by the Priests and Nuns amongst the poor an under privelaged,in a town or dorp named De Aar where I was born, the missionary Priests and Nuns did great work in helping the poor and the hungry and the sick, when no other non Catholic church or denomination ever did give them any help. I thank those good Priests and Nuns now long departed RIP,who gave their all to help the needy the oppressed and the sick. The work has never ended it is to this day still doing the same work as their departed did so long ago.I wish them well in their never ending mission to come to the aid of the poor and oppressed people of De Aar

  • Ellen Teague  - Columban Faith and Justice Team, Britain

What an uplifting video! How wonderful to see the Church’s Social Teaching put into practice by the South African Bishops’ Conference. And thank you for introducing some of your people to the international World Cup audience. ‘Church on the Ball’ – what a great title - you live up to it.

  • Norm

Hey Toni, the video does not reflect an "individualistic vision"! In a positive light it emphasizes two issues where the Church is making an impact: HIV AIDS and human trafficking - hence all the images of children. A short video of this nature cannot focus on every issue. We have produced much on the theme of the family over the years.

  • Catherine Descroizilles

Great to see the Catholic Church in action. A meaningful message put out. Well done - I will pass this website onto other Catholics! :)

  • Jo Siedlecka  - Brilliant!

  • don Ariel  - I suggest subtittles

:D congratulations for this video. may I suggest subtitles for other lenguagges?
it is very important to share your message to the rest of the world.
    all the best.

  • Toni Rowlan d  - Where are our families in our "Church as Family"

Hi, a very nice video but I find it sad that while there were plenty of children, babies and mothers with babies I did not see couples, no family units, no African marriage celebration. It reflects for me a limited and individualistic vision, not the African Church's vision of "Church as Family" in a meaningful way.
